While it might seem like gobbledigook, the long and unpronounceable title of Sigur Rós' fifth studio album translates from their native Icelandic to, "With a buzz in our ears we play endlessly." This album does not however go on endlessly. Instead, it leads one happily wanting more of its sublime sounds. Their signature joyous orchestrations and epic crescendos are still intact with songs like "Ára Bátur," which was recorded live in one take with over 90 musicians. It proves that while bigger may not be better, it can be glorious. The band also hint at new developments with a brighter sound in songs like "Gobbledigook," which include more acoustic guitars and raucous percussion sections that have garnered bizarre but accurate comparisons to the tribal-pop sounds of Animal Collective.
